Marc, you can email it to me and I can do it (I think I can do wpd files, if you can save it as any other text format I know for sure that I can do it). Save as PDF is a built in option for all apps on Macs.

there is not a "publish to" option in my wp:confused:
Strange. I have versions 10, 11 and 12 on 3 different computers and all have a publish to pdf. What version do you have?

I can handle your wpd file if nobody else has the program. If you're still struggling you can 'e' it to me and I'll get your .pdf.

Do you have Acrobat installed on those machines? I know a lot of windows programs only have the publish to, save as, export as, etc, to PDF if you have Acrobat installed.

all this knowledge about converting and I keep wondering why you would want to... :ugh:
pdf is the best format to send resumes and things that don't need to be altered or edited because they will look the exact same on any machine, OS, or program that opens them. There isn't another format thats the same way, even if I use Microsoft Word on my Mac, when you open that same document (say a resume) on your windows machine, the formatting will likely be way off, making you look like a retard that doesn't know how to format a simple document. :D

That's true. I would rather have plain text for about anything else though...

well, I can think of a ton of things PDF is great for, pretty much anything that you would print out to fill in. Plain text is good but it also has it's place... :p

PDF files are great for business too. We convert all our drawings to PDF when we submit them to customers for Approval, etc. It allows anyone with a viewer to mark them up, plus it doesn't exactly allow them to cut and paste from our drawing files directly to their own drawing files.

we also convert all our files that print on my printing press at work to PDF, makes them much smaller and it makes them so all the assets are there for sure. :D

I use a program called PDF995. www.pdf995.com . It is a free version that the only draw back is that it pops up a link to ask you to buy their full version. It adds a printer to your computer and when you hit print, it will convert it. It works great.

Open Office can make pdf's, and it's free :)

And it works well too, I began using it back in 12/05 and have not looked back since.

My digital faxes come over in PDF, and I always print to PDF to save files digitally and email them to others.

usually compresses the file size a little bit in most cases.
