I'm building new rear upper shock mounts for my jeep cherokee. I'm thinking of either making a bracket and then bolting it in, or just welding shock tabs to the uni-body. My question is, with the gas tank being so close and the fuel lines running within 6-7 inches of where the welding will be done, should I worry about starting a fire/blowing myself up? I know I should probably drop the tank and move the lines to be 100% safe but I'd rather not put that much work into it. What is your input?
