He and Creighton are on their way to Tennessee....56.4 miles into the trip, they just lost their first trailer tire. :D

35 foot tandem axle trailer, with two rock crawlers on it. They're traveling on the spare now, and the other three tires all have cracks in the sidewalls.

How many will they go through on the trip out and back? Cast your votes now.....

Three. Then they'll buy a new set of four, and keep the remaining two old tires as spares. The new set will survive unscathed.

No, you're getting them confused with me now. That's what I need to do.

TRAILER TIRE UPDATE!!!

It's 11:40 PM, and Craig just called me here at the shop (Trailer Tire Report Headquarters).

Tires blown: 2
Miles traveled: 370.4

Other items of interest: Additional 6 tires aquired from Alan Ball (Rockstars team member/M.O.R.E. Offroad owner).

Also, trailer brakes are not functional. However, they may work once they steal the wires from their multimeter to fix the problem.

BTW, the winner will recieve a lovely RL 4x4 t-shirt. :)

In the event of a tie, the contestants will be forced to answer RME related triva questions chosen by a select panel of judges. There will be no bonus round. -_-

All employees, family members, Olly, or pets belonging to or affiliated with RockLogic4x4, LLC or it's parent company Tsujimoto Inc. are not eligible for said prizes and/or services in this contest/promotion.

TRAILER TIRE UPDATE!!!

12:20 AM (only 40 min. since the last update)

Total tires blown: still holding at 2
Miles traveled: ???, but not too much futher than the last update...

New points of interest: Sheared all studs on left rear axle. Tire and rim took a serious beating when it got run over by the trailer on it's way off, but can still be used. Trailer brakes are now functional again.

When asked if they will be replacing the hub and/or axle, I was told "I don't know, we're just sitting here in the dirt laughing and drinking Red Bull...".

Stay tuned for more updates...

TRAILER TIRE UPDATE!!!

9am update. Most info from last night, since they're just getting on the road now....

When they were jacking the trailer up after shearing the wheel studs, they broke their floor jack. They also bent the racks where the ramps go when the wheel came off. They took off all the wheels to steal lug studs to replace the broken ones--they're now running with 6 lugs per wheel instead of 8.

They redid all the trailer brake wiring and hardware, so the brakes kick butt at this point. They're going to reduce their speed to 55-65, to try to keep stuff together--and when things do break, they won't fly nearly as far.

394 miles down so far.

Also, for those of you who said they'll lose at least one fender, you were wrong. There are no fenders on this trailer, it has the deck over the tires.

Yup, 4 tires, just like TTC '95. It's some kind of rule. But you have to be in bfe to do it, and have to chain up one of the axles and limp to a small town where the mensa-dude at the shop puts a floor jack under the center of the tag axle and proceeds to jack up the trailer, bending the axle and causing the trailer to suddenly lose balance and fall to one side, the mensa-dude deaf to the yelling and screaming from the psycho-crazed jeeper dude running towards him ready to rip his arms off and beat him with them.

I guess that the sheared studs can substitute for having to chain up the axle...
