How much 4 rebuild on t-case

Can anybody tell me how much it would cost approx. to rebuild a t-case. I have done them before but heres the situation. My cousin picked up an 84 xj. It needed brakes, lines, fuel pump, carb rebuild and hell i forgot what else. He is a total mechanical idiot. So this weekend he blew out the t-case and ask me if i would do it for him. Everything else i have done as a "your family" price aka free. This is asking a bit much for me to do, due to the time factor and all. So what would he pay to have it done in a shop? then i will judge how much i will charge him this time. Does this make me sound like an a$#hole family member to charge him on this? :-\

I think you should charge him beer, and make him come over and help so he can learn how to do some stuff.

x2 if he doesn't want to learn then refer him to a shop that will do it for him

np231?, guess it depends on whats wrong with it, if its just a chain, isnt much of an event. does he have any other skill? If I were you I would concider trading some of your skilled time for some of his skilled time. Ex.....if hes is a cement finisher trade him for some patio work.....hr for hr.

yep its a 207, we can buy a rebuild kit for like 200 buck or go get one at the junk yard for 75. Iether way i am tired of doing free work lol As for trade work he is a truck driver with no good skills lol. As for beer i quit drinking so that dont help i guess he could mow my lawn all summer
