This thread was fun to reread. Who still has their rig from this thread? How much do you think you've added to your rig since 2003? If you sold it, how much did it sell for?

I actually broke even on my Samurai back in 2004.. Sold it for around $3,300ish.. Then purchased a 20y/o 4runner for $10k.. Made Cody's (not McCoolguy) day I'm sure. Rallied it for about 2 years then sold it for $7,500 to some 18y/o sucker with daddy's money. Then I bought a '99 4runner for $7k, still have it - looking to sell soon probably.. Now have a 2006 Xterra that I have no clue how much i'm into.. Don't care. What the wife doesn't know can't hurt her. ;)

78 fj40 bought it 10 yrs BEFORE this thread was started:) for 2,500 (i think, it's been a while)
Since then.....God only knows but my wallet is always empty

What'd you dig this fossil up for?

My uni-body is long gone (6+years ago) and I've been wheeling Caleb's frame/tub since then (combined with some axles I procured, a powertrain from a Suburban I owned and more time than I want to admit putting this thing together).
 
That was funny to see pre-Maxxis Creighton's post on there. I had to laugh about not only not still having my rig from 03, but trying to count the rigs between then and now.
 
I started adding up on my 87 yj I am in the middle of building, I got 8 grand in it now.

I got to spend another 2 grand to finish the thing up the way I want.
 
Wow, talk about some old names in this thread :D As Marc mentioned, I sold my rig from this thread to him (frame and tub) for $4-500...so I think the better question is, who (that had a good chunk in to their rigs, I was at almost $23K) sold for the smallest amount :D

dually project is right at 10k for the truck, the head rebuild in Chicago :( and the Cummins/19.5's purchase. :( Not so happy about that one... but then, it did make me a bunch of money, so it's alright. :D

FJ40 is not being added up, as what I spent on gaskets alone makes me ill. Cruisers are stupid!!! LOL (and yes Carl, and Von, and Bryson, I do remember that you all told me so. :D)
