How wide is your RV pad?

I will be storing my buggy trailer there, possibly in the future a boat/rv/travel trailer. How wide does it need to be?

I had an 8 ft. wide one at my old house. Mirrors of the truck touched the neighbors fence and my electrical register. TOUGH to back a trailer into. 10 ft. at minimum.

yep, my parent's is about 8.5' wide and like Marc said it can be tough to get into at times when there's a fence on one side and a house onthe other. Deffinitely doable if you're looking for the bare minimum, thats where I kept my trailer the whole time I had it but if you will have the room I'd want atleast 10' (maybe more).

Carl, how wide is yours? I've backed trailers into yours a couple times so I have a good idea what I'm dealing with. I'm glad to hear you guys saying you've worked with 8 feet, and would like to have ten feet. Right now I'm kinda planning on 12 feet, so it sounds like that's going to be enough.

Keep them coming! I want to know what people are working with, and what they think of it!

Marc, any idea how wide your brother-in-law's in Vegas is?

12 feet would be nice...the thing I think that would be nice about it is you can have your RV, trailer, buggy, etc parked there and still be able to access it (open the doors, crawl around it, etc) without any issues of having a fence or house in the way and still be able to get things by it to the backyard (lawnmower) :D

Mine's got to be about 10' at least. The crew cab with wiiiiiide mirrors doesn't hit the property line or the house. I should measure that.

Mine's 12 feet wide, then 8 more feet to the property line.

Mine is 30' wide by 70' long. I have a motorhome and 3 trailers on it though. It has 30 amp outlets and a nightlight just like a RV park..... I got bored.

After dealing with my 8 ft. one, I'd bet that's around 9 ft (the entry). Just a guess. 8 ft. was also kinda tough on doors on the pickup. When I opened them, they were CLOSE to the chain link fence. That was a '77 and I bet any modern truck will have longer doors and probably open further........In my mind 10 ft. would be a minimum and 12 ft. would be NICE.

I finished mine before the snow came in November. Its 12' between the house and the property line/future fence. In the back its 20' wide and 40' deep and just over 100' long from the street. I poured it 5-6" deep so it should last forever. I also poured cement in half of the basement that was crawl space and I'm into all of it $8k and glad its over with.

mine is 14 feet, and goes all the way to the fence. I can get in and out easy enough, and there is still room to move around the jeep, and everything else. i would go as wide as you can. concrete is cheap, and between the pad and the property line is most likely to become a weed patch anyway.

so where are you building at?
There are currently two options we are seriously persuing. One is at 7800 south and about 7200 West (just West of U111). The other is about 3500 south and 6000 West. Both are the same builder. Both are very close to the same price. There are pros and cons to each one. We are very torn about what to do. We like the 7800 South area better, but we can build a nicer house on a larger lot at 3500 south for the same price. Both have >1300 square foot garages. :greg: Both have space for a 12ish foot RV pad. I didn't know if that was wide enough, hence this thread. Seems like it is. :)

Mine is 14' wide, and 50' deep from the front of the garage. I wish it was a little wider sometimes. It's very easy to back a trailer on to it and leave room to work around it, but if I hug the garage very tight, there is just barely enough room to drive the lawn tractor past it on the other side.
