Wanting a HP 30 for a Cherokee, preferably a 3.73gear ratio.

My son just found an 87 XJ with stock 3.73 gears in it, in fact it had a dana 44 rear which is now in my garage.....

I was thinking newer non-disconnect models, the older ones with tow package had 3.73's but were vacuum disconnect if memory serves. Did he get it at our usual place?

Correct, cherokees made from 1987 to 1991.5 with the towing package came with 3.73's from factory (the one in my avatar pic had this). A couple months ago I got rid of the exact axle you're looking for, high pinion and 3.73 sorry :/.
