As some of you know from my FB page, my wife is the unnamed female employee in the jewelry store robbery from last night. Her an her manager are ok. She hasn't been very emotional about it, just anxiety which killed sleep last night. Crazy how well she's taking it, as she was tossed under a counter, then dragged by her hair into a back room and held with a gun to her head..

Let's hope the next time these assclowns attempt a similar activity they are dispatched by someone with greater gunfighting skills.

Holy crap, Jason! I heard about it last night but I had no idea she was your wife! I hope she doesn't suffer any lasting effects. Retail is a tough place to work these days. My stores get broken into all the time, but thankfully always after everyone is gone so far.

Thanks guys.. It's tough preparing the house to be a fortress, training for self-defense, and then having something like his take place where I have zero control. Jacey's manager is amazing, as he told me that he was ready to sacrifice himself for my wife's if it came to it. He kept apologizing and saying, "I did everything I could to protect her". He's a stud, and I'm glad he was there. Thanking God that they weren't seriously injured or killed.

She's confident that there's nothing they could've done to have fought back and made it count. Each person involved had very specific jobs, and were communicating with a third person via radios. She said they had it planned perfectly, every move was deliberate. The rings they got all had fake diamonds, so hopefully they'll have a major let-down when they try to sell them.

Probably some scab faced meth head scum. Unfortunately there are crooked business's willing to buy $150k worth of 'scrap' metal from these crack heads and look the other way. Hope they catch them and you get to look into the eyes of these bastards.

Its good to hear that she is OK, Jason. A terrible situation, to be sure and hopefully the criminals are brought to justice.
Some unsolicited advice, having gone through something similar; help her talk through it. If the company offers some sort of therapy, encourage her to take it. After Trolley Square I bottled everything up. Said I was fine. Didn't talk about it with anyone. Years later I think I probably could have benefitted from talking about it right away.

Having been on the other end of a loaded gun, I can very well imagine how she's feeling. That's scary as hell after the fact... especially when you think "I've got to go back to work again"... I'm glad she wasn't hurt any worse.

Thanks all! Jacey's doing great; she spent the day with me rather than going back to the store.

She has no problem going into detail with anyone who asks about the event. Her employer has made a counselor available on Monday if Jacey wants to talk to a professional, which she probably will just to do it.. We're now with her family for a big party.

Thanks guys.. She's going to be seeing a counselor this week, and she's got a prescription to cut the edge and anxiety; also to help her sleep. She's been sleeping better than ever(normally an insomniac), but also having nightmares.. And we found out while shopping on Saturday that guys in black beenies or hoodies with the hood up cause her a nervous feeling. So, it may a while before she gets back to near where she was before all of this.
