HUGE line of police vehicles on I-15 this morning?

I was coming northbound through Sandy this morning around 7:15, and southbound there was a HUGE line of police vehicles, all with their lights going. I don't think they were speeding, but there had to be over 100 vehicles. They seemed to be from a lot of different agencies too, I think I even saw a DWR truck. Anyone know what was going on? I couldn't find anything on the news outlets, and I don't think they were escorting anything. Very odd.

At 7:15 in the morning? That thought crossed my mind, maybe transporting a fallen officer or something, but I would think it would've been covered by the news somewhere.

maybe shop with a cop? when i was a teen and worked at kmart and was part of that they took all of the kids on a ride down the highway in a convoy

Check ksl or the news tonight. There will certainly be a story about it.

I think its a great way for the community to see how cops are normal people, especially the lower income community that might have more negative types of interaction we with them.

Friend of mine joined shop with a cop and was pretty upset over the fact that there were a few kids that just wanted food for the family. Sad deal, he made sure they had food too

My wife has done shop with a cop. It is amazing how many kids want food for the family or a gift for some other kid in the family. She has told me that very few kids want a toy just for themselves.

Not sure if is/was related but I saw a grip of cops in Sandy this afternoon. All K-9 units and from all over the place... Texas, Idaho, sheriffs, game wardens, etc. Guessing K-9 training or competition... doubt Jerome PD came down from Idaho for Shop w/a Cop.
