I've been watching this news unfold on 4 different Hummer forums for a couple days....... it's been interesting.

Right now it looks like they are going to invest the money and run the company from here in the US. They are going to contract to continue to build the H3 vehicles in Louisiana.

AM General builds the H1 and H2......they haven't made a H1 since production was cancelled after the 2006 model year.

The Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company that is purchasing Hummer has indicated that the H2 will remain part of it's Hummer line-up and has indicated that a diesel power-plant is likely.

That would be very cool... keeping the jobs here and all.

In 1999, General Motors acquired the HUMMER brand worldwide and rebadged the original vehicle H1. In 2002, AM General began assembling the HUMMER H2 for GM in its new factory in Mishawaka, Ind. This vehicle was designed by and is marketed by General Motors. In 2006, production of the H1 ceased. Although GM acquired the HUMMER brand, they do not own any part of AM General. For specific HUMMER product information visit HUMMER.com.

This makes me hope that those Red bastards get no part of the H1 out of this deal, just the GM stuff. :D
