I-15 single rider toll lanes, who uses them? Maybe I should have caught onto this earlier but I choose to ignore the HOV lane most of the time?

Looks like you pay $8.75 for a pass. Is that a one-time charge or monthly? If you use them for the daily commute do you pay about $40 per month? Can your transponder card be moved from vehicle to vehicle?

I was going to ask all the questions here, but I found this video that answered most of what I was going to ask.

After getting a ticket a few years back for crossing the double white (with a passenger), I avoid the lane. -_-

It's my understanding you can move the transponder to other vehicles (hence the suction cups).

According to the UHP I spoke with the double white should be concidered a cement barricade and never crossed. Uou can only enter/exit the HOV using the dotted line zones. But I guess Spork knows that now :)

Yea the close to $100 ticket wakes you up... :-\ What's funny is I was in Texas last month and they had an express lane there and it did have cement barricades on both sides. I believe they would change lane direction depending on time of day. The lane felt like you were in a luge, if someone broke down that was it, you were stuck there wasn't a shoulder or anywhere to go.

That's how it was in Boston when I was there a couple weeks ago.

st louis has the same thing... it works way better than the hov lane.. everyone was able to use it to get out of and into town... it speeds up the daily drive but if you only lived a few miles down the road you wouldn't want to use it... it would be great for people that live is davis county or utah county to get out of salt lake county

I have one. I got one of the first 2000 freebies that they gave away.

- yes you can move it to different vehicles, but you are supposed to list all of the possible vehicles that it could be used in.

- you have to give them your CC#. They immediately charge $25 which is deposited into your "account". Every time you pass through a toll, it deducts from your "account". As you deplete your account, you eventually reach a level (I don't remember when) they charge your CC with another $25 which again goes into your "account". The amount you pay is entirely dependent upon how often you use the lane, how many toll "zones" you travel though, and how much they're charging for that particular zone at that time.

I don't use it every day by any means, maybe once a week it helps me to get out of traffic. Using it sparingly, I spend about $5 a month.

Double lines are bad, no matter what the color.

I use those lanes often while alone in the car, but It's free with my (C) license plate. :)

New Jersey has "local" and "express" freeways. They're right next to each other, but separated by concrete curbs (that can be driven over in an emergency). The "local" part has all the exits, and the "express" part only has occasional transitions to/from the "local". It's an interesting concept, and makes for confusing driving directions.

I think California also has the single concrete separated HOV lane. Break down would suck but I'd take it over the double white lines. No one pays attention to them and I always get scared that at speed in the HOV some a$$hole will pop in at a crawl from the fast lane. Its happened to me before and there were skid marks a plenty (boxers and BFGs if you get my drift).

My imaginatory thought process of those "Road Kings"...

Look, here's one of those lower class serfs, that I am forced to breath amongst, going slower than I want in this, MY, fast lane. 78mph!!!? What a loser!"
While crossing the double white lines, with a crooked smirk on his acne scarred face, he muses, "It's great to be KING where the laws don't apply to ME. I, THE SUPREME HIGHNESS, can drive where ever I want!"
A moment later, HE fumes, "Why is this low life cop pulling ME over? Doesn't he know who I am and that if I'm not home by 6:00 SHARP my wife will make me sleep on the couch, again?"
And he pulls over his 12" lifted, never seen dirt, Hummer H2.
