I-15 traffic watchers

Most days driving home south on I-15 I see people on the over passes, usually sitting in lawn chairs, usually with a camera set up, sometimes watching cars, sometimes reading a book.

What are they doing???

Are they stats counters for the state? Giving HOV tickets by mail? Seems like the camera is usually over the HOV lane.

Don't know, but I saw them on Monday afternoon when I went up to SLC. It seemed like the guy I saw was over the middle lane.

There is an over pass around 2700 south, and one around 3900 south I believe

I've never noticed them in Utah County. As long as they're not dropping stuff into traffic...

If I had to guess I'd guess they they are studying trafic patterns to help plan improvments. As for the State Street American Fork exit, I've heard that it's going to get a clover leaf... where Harts truck stop is.

It needs something done. It gets pretty backed up around 5:00.
