I chopped it off and built a triangulated 4 link:greg:

Everything is very close with this rig. Not alot of room in the front when you are doing a suspension like this. The uppers get very close to the oil pan but the advantage of using such long arms is they really don't move a whole lot where they are close to everything. They also get close to the exhaust. If we need to we will just bumpstop it. Right now it seems like the springs limit us more than anything else.

the passenger upper is looking pretty close to the driveline

There was actually a 1 1/2" between the bar and the driveline right there. Close but it will never touch. That is as compressed as that coil will go.

Theres about that much clearance with everything.......exhaust, oilpan, etc. But nothing will actually hit. Its crazy how perfect everything laid out.

Thanks to Eric (blazinzuk) for the design and geometry skills. He is the man!! Just so everyone knows....he has started a shop in Idaho Falls called T.O.R. design. If you need anything built, fabbed, designed, call Eric. His prices cant be beat.

What's keeping you from full hydraulic steering now? :D

$$$$$$$

This suspension cost me triple what I was hoping when I built the radius arms. (thats half the reason the bars are getting painted gold) The bottom bars are 2" 1/2" wall tube!! Between that, gears and detroits for both axles........IM BROKE!!

The hydro assist is working great now though. Im turning these 39.5s with one finger

Probably just the angle of the picture and he's already flexed, putting it closest it will probably already be...

I second Scott, looks good, but let's see it on the trail! :D

Are you going to make it back for the king challenge???

Im taking it out this saturday then its going to Moab for EJS. I will post some pics of both.

I got shocks on both sides and drove it around awhile tonight. It rides pretty nice. Its different having flex in the front......Im so used to my old STIFF leaf springs. It will take some getting used to but in a good way.

That Traveler keeps looking better and better. Good work on the 4-link. The IH rims are the bomb!

Looks like you should consider a CV drive shaft or something. Is your front pinion angle gonna be ok when you're fully flexed out?

We should get a Binder run goin' down at EJS.

I hauled the thing to Tom Woods and had them look at it. They said I could get more angle with their flex joints then with cvs so thats what I have at both ends. They are pretty cool. The joint is offset rather then a straight X. I flexxed it and it wont bind........close though. Thats the good thing about a 4 link....the pinion stays the same angle to the Tcase throughout articulation

Thanks for the compliments! A binder run would be sweet

Sweet, I'll have to look into doing that with mine.

The joints are 60 a piece but come with a breakage garauntee. You have to grease them a ton though. Im getting BAD vibrations from the front shaft. I heard these flex joints will vibrate a little but I cant go 5 mph in 4wd before it feels like the scouts gonna fall apart. Im taking it back to Tom Woods on monday morning to see whats up. I will let you know what they say. Its almost like the yoke is welded on wrong. Maybe they just forgot to balance it Either way........im not very happy

I went to Tom Woods and told them about the vibration and he looked at me like I was a idiot. He said of course it vibrates. You have a lot of angle and the flex joints will vibrate. Good thing he told me that in the first place. I could have built a square driveshaft for nothing and I dont think it would vibrate as bad as my $360 "Tom Woods" drive shaft. If it was a comp buggy it would be fine but I like driving everything. They are building me a new shaft with a cv. He said the flex joint was giving me about 5 degree more than the cv will but hopefully I can go faster than 5 mph in 4wd.

No comments on the wheelin pics???
