I hate some people

I went out to my truck today, and noticed the door to my Jeep wasnt closed all the way. I looked inside and it was obvious that someone besides me paid it a visit.
My center console was open, and I looked inside my glove box..... and what do ya know?
My face to the cd player is gone, as well as my insurance and registration paper work.

I have a soft top, and I intentionally keep the doors unlocked, because I have heard of far too many horror stories about people slashing thru their soft tops.
I dont keep anything of value inside... except I guess a faceplate to a cd player, and my vehicle's paperwork.

Anyways, should i be worried that my insurance papers and registration papers are gone?

What can a thief do with than info? Should I be worried?

Thanks in advance.

Identity theft! Watch out! Call your insurance, they might even try to put a false accident against you! It has happened!

i think my next upgrade is a "tuffy security glove box" i will keep all my paperwork in that.
and after that will be a car alarm system. one with a "proximity alarm" cause i like the doors and top off the jeep.

after that will be BOLTING down my amp and subwoofer.

what did i miss now ?

I had an alarm and my stereo equipment bolted down on my jeep and they still got away with everything. They just unbolted it all. Good call on leaving the door unlocked. No need to have to pay for a new top. Locking the doors only keep the honest people out.

I near of a guy that had his stereo stoled two or three times. Finally he fastened some razor blades behind his dash somehow so as someone was reaching under they would get cut. Soon after he found his car had several bloody spots in it, and he still had his stereo!

Proximatey alarms suck, it won't even let you walk by a car without going off. I always hate that when I park next to one at the store. Tuffy consoles work better to slow people down. He does have your address now, they might be back to get the base of your cd player

One morning I came out to my samurai (no top or doors) to notice my glovebox open and that it had been rumaged thru during the night. The theives grabbed some tools, but were nice enought to neatly jam all my paperwork in between the top and bottom cushions of the passenger seat so they didn't blow away. How considerate.

I have an alarm on mine, i took the proximity sensor off-- it was just a pain in the butt.

i also have a soft top, so i leave the doors unlocked when they are on.

the alarm will trigger if they open in the winter.

i added a insta trunk in mine, and a tuffy center console to protect my things in the event someone does decide to get in there.

When I had some subs in mine, I built a metal strap that went around the perimeter, and bolted through the floor. When you opened the tail gate you'd slide it into the bracket, and it would cover the bolts. Lock the tailgate, and there was to way to get it out. Something like this could probably be used to secure a box or something in there. I also used carraige bolts with the round part on the underside, so they couldn't undo it.
