I just TBoned a Caddy

I just had my first wreck after 33 years of driving. I was heading down 45th south in my Cherokee when an 81 year old lady darted across the road in front of me in her 99 Cadillac DeVille. I locked it up trying to avoid her but couldn't. She now has a rear passenger section re-designed by Jeep. Unfortunately I didn't have one of those big winch bumpers on so I have a destroyed bumper, fender, grille, and who knows what else. Luckily two guys stopped and stayed as witnesses till the cop came. One was the guy behind me who almost rear ended me and the other was the guy that was behind the lady. Good thing I wasn't in my freshly painted and rebuilt scrambler. Now comes the fun of getting her insurance to pay up. At least I have a bunch of parts to fix it with. What a way to start the weekend.........

Wow, that sucks! You're both ok though? How fast do you think you going when you hit her? And of course... where's the pics?! :D

Nobody got hurt luckily. The speed limit was 40 and there was one of those speed measuring machines right where it happened and I was doing 38 before I hit the brakes. Not sure what I was doing when we hit. The skid marks were only about 6 feet long before the point of impact. The lady when she saw the short skid marks said " it doesn't look like you tried very hard to miss me". The cop told me it was good I didn't try to swerve around her because I would have nailed one of the two witnesses. I could not have swerved if I had wanted to because there wasn't enough room to go around her in either direction. It looks like I should be able to fix it up without too much trouble. Her car definitely got hurt worse. Here is a picture of the front of mine.

Wow! Glad to hear noone was hurt. I've learned you gotta be careful in this area due to the retirement homes and St.Marks hospital. Seems to bring out the "I only drive when absolutely necessary" blue haired old folks.

My first wreck ever was getting t-boned by a Caddy DeVille :D IMO, for the boats they are, they sure don't fair well in wrecks. I had an old 86 subaru at the time and I had an ok size dent on the side of my car but the front end of her's was REALLY messed up. It sounds like you're fine. Shouldn't have any problem getting the ins to pay-up (unless she's with Bear River) having two witnesses and a police report for you, not much they can dispute. ;)

I know the feeling of getting in a wreck right before the weekend. I was rear ended by a dumbass last Friday. It sucks. Luckily for you, though, no one was hurt, and your Jeep doesn't look too bad.
