Cost of living is pretty high down there. I had looked at spending a summer down there as a river guide when I was in college, but they didn't pay a ton and the ones I was looking into didn't provide lodging. That was a solid 8-10 years ago so things may have changed.
maybe look into the utility companies. I knew a kid that worked at McDonalds, and quit to go dig ditches because it paid hime 2x's as much (but digging ditches in the heat would not be the type of work I would want to do, but since you claim to have no skills maybe digging is your kind of gig?)
My gut says you're selling yourself just a little short. You probably have some marketable skill and there are plenty of businesses down there that employ seasonal people that require little more than the ability to show up on time, be nice to people, and not steal money.
