The view I saw did not look like this.

From my vantage point I must have been seeing it from the other (top) side.

That really is sad... I'm glad society can't blame it on drugs or anything. But it does look like they are trying to take the bad kid sneeking out angle.. Just leave it alone already. If it didn't happen at 4am after sneeking out, it would have happened at 6pm on the way home for dinner. Any adult could have had this accident as well.

I seriously doubt that "any adult" would be doing 100 mph up highway six at four in the morning. The driver was an idiot plain and simple. His young passengers paid the price and so did their families.

Your right, because adults are practical and smart. Maybe you are, maybe I am, but there are others that aren't. My point is the people could have been 16, 20 or 40. Anyone driving in this manner could have it happen to them as well. ...They all died, so they all paid the price. Three of them didn't have to be there....

Trust me, I am not defending idiot adults (of which there are many). My point was, statistically speaking, these kind of fatal wrecks happen to younger drivers more than older. What bothers me the most about this story is it received about 10 seconds of news time on all three local news networks. The four that died just happened to be all hispanic. If they were all white BYU students it would be major hoopla and all the flags in the state would be at half staff.

Some wreck stats can be found here. http://www.car-accidents.com/teen-car-accidents.html

I'm not disputing the stats or norm. The story writer had an angle that I don't agree with. Sneeking out after dark is not going to get you killed. Neither will be being 16. All of this could have happened to anyone at any time of the day.

Agreed - this story should be plastered on every wall in America telling people to drive responsibly.
