I am laughing so hard right now. Reminds me of some of the idiot's on pritchett during firday of EJS a couple weeks ago. Me, "So why are you guys on this trail with stock rigs again"? Them, "Well them red rock club guys closed off that poison spider thingy and this is the only trail they said they weren't usin fer today." Other's "We're up here on a bet!!! Yehaw!" Me, "Do you know what lockers are by any chance?". Them,"yeah we heard of them thingy's, but it's aah right my friend has a winch. And we done ok so farwith our new jeep e'en though it's not lifted er nothin".
I was honestly in line at the rock slide below rock pile for 4 hours. watching dozens of people like this (even some built rigs) try to figure out how to use straps and winches. When I actually drove up the thing people thought I was a rock star. That day was beyond frustrating. It was hilarious!

Actually, the lady on Lion's Back in the Blazer did an amazing job. The story goes that her husband had been up and down it twice in the Blazer. On the third time down he talks his wife into driving down it not realizing he'd thouroughly glazed the brakes the last time down. She starts down in low and the brakes don't hold, she starts picking up speed. He then told her to throw it into park. Uh uh, not at that speed, so she ends up in neutral. No brakes, no gears, novice driver. She kept it mostly on line until she got to the bottom. No one was seriously hurt. I wonder if more experienced drivers would have done as well.

I remember talking to Dan Mick about that before they were going to film it. They gave her a brand new Rubicon to get her to do it and had Dan teach her how to drive it. I think anyone could drive down that with 4 to 1 and an auto like that Jeep was.
