... interesting. :greg:
This won't be much of a trip report, but more just a photo-dump. I camped in the Valley of the Gods on the way down and it was an epic night, perfectly cool temps and a brilliant full moon that was so bright I had a hard time sleeping!
So.... Valley of the Gods;
Monument Valley...
Eventually I made it to Flagstaff and the location of Overland Expo West 2017, my brother from SLC was already there and had claimed a 'camp site'. I wasn't prepared for the amount of people, the 'campgrounds' or the total sensory overload I'd be subjected to the next couple days. The show was massive, the vendor area rivaled EJS IMO and there were people wandering all over checking out all the latest gadgets. We ran into a few friends, hung out and got all kinds of crazy ideas for future trips and rigs. I wish we would have found more people that were international travelers and talked to them, it would have been great to have insight from people that are currently living the life, roaming around the world!
Our camp site...
I loved checkout out all the different vehicles, the motorcycles and booths. Some of the vehicles were simply overkill... like, WAY TOO MUCH. Neat to see, but driving a massive 10 ton military truck around the world that's limited to 55-60 MPH is a bit ridiculous.
