Kurt, Carl, and I checked that thing out HARD at SEMA. I don't know why in the hell they would start with probably the ugliest CJ ever made, and one of the smallest, but it's not my company. :D They did nothing to improve the looks with their ugly-ass grille, either. :vomit:

I was slightly glad to see that they aren't charging $100k for these like they are with the FJ40... and that you can get these as rollers and not just complete vehicles.

I don't know, I always liked the 3B due to the high hood. Unique. I think that the ICON interpretation is just awesome. I really want to see one up close and personal.

I absolutely LOVE the CJ 3b!!! Always have, always will. Icon has built the perfect flatfender IMO. How much did they want for a turnkey?

$100K+ to start. They ICON FJ's start at ~$115k.

You will never convince everyone that the price is just, but you have to really see one to appreciate the gross amount of time they put into them, in addition to the fact they have built up the tooling for the bodies, frames, etc.

are you sure about that?? I thought the CJ was like $45k to start... I know the FJ's start at $100k, which is ludicrous given the market.. but justifiable given the work. :D

edit: I see we are both wrong, this is from the Icon site:

ICON CJ3B Limited Edition

that's for the one in the pics, which from the spec sheet looks a lot like... a Rubicon w/an Ecotec motor and some nice shocks???

Four wheel coil suspension, with triangulated four link rear, and panhard front linkage designs. Fox Racing 2” Nitrogen charged shocks with remote reservoirs.

Front torsion bar based sway bar with adjustable and quick release links.

Heavy duty Johnny joints and .188” wall 2” O.D. equal length steel control arms.

Energy bump stops.

GM ECOTEC engine with 210 HP & 195 Ft/Lbs Torque. CAD designed motor mounts to reduce vibration.

AISIN-Warner AX15 Manual Transmission with New Process NP231 transfer case.

Custom width Jeep Rubicon based solid axle assemblies, 4.10 gears and electric locking differntials front & rear.

Seating for four with three point belts for all passengers. Removable rear seat.

The new steel body with custom grill by ICON is coated in polyester Teflon powdercoat and is available in 8 standard colors or any custom color as an option.

Maybe it was the rollers that are like $45k. *shrug*

That is seriously one of the coolest non-toyota vehicles I've ever seen. I love the grille. I never liked anything about the Icon Landcruisers, but I wouldn't complain if someone gave me the CJ3B. :greg:
