This is the last thing I'll say about Irok's in this thread,

I am generally extremely patient on the trail, because we all have problems from time to time.... but if anything, I get tired of waiting for people with Iroks to get UP an obstacle. This is not to say I haven't come across a few rigs with Iroks that did well. In that situation I'm always left wondering how well that rig would do on tires that don't SUCK.

Oh now Meaty-poo, I didn't mean to hurt your feelers. I'm just a little bit excited about my new tires, I promise to not stomp on you too badly...:greg:

:)

I'll still wheel with peeps on Iroks, but I will incessantly bag on the Iroks :D

The iroks actually did very well in the early spring snow. I've never seen an SX (or any other modern tire) in this situation so I have nothing to compare to.

The Iroks also do ok in mud. I saw a set of SX's clearing out much better on the Eagles nest than a set of Iroks one muddy day (at crawl speed), however, my 39.5" must have had something to do with helping me take 3rd in the open class at the King Challenge (very muddy logs, mud pit, tire pit, gauntlet). I also did some pretty good early spring mountain trail mud, but once again, no other vehicle/tire to compare with on these runs.

On Rock, I do believe the Iroks hold me back … a lot.

I’ll still wheel with a certain local Hillbilly even though he gives me continual crap about my Iroks.

I think Iroks work great in some applications, and are by no means a bad tire. I've just seen them not hook up in places in Moab where other tires seemed to do better.

I had Iroks and loved them.....I broke my front end just after the golden crack in moab. aired the rear tires down to about 7lbs, and they brought me all the way through gold bar, while helping an open diff chevy truck up some of the obstactles. I thought Iroks were amazing.....
they wore fast on my fullsize but they are amazing......

Thank you for the heads up on the upcoming "bagging"! ;) Does that give me permission to point and laugh when we whoop your bahookie then? :D

That's good to hear. I've seen the Iroks do quite well and we love Super Swampers so it was a pretty easy choice for us. I REALLY wish the SX came in a bigger size, because that's the only reason we are switching to Iroks.

And I'm with you on the continuing to wheel with a certain Hillbilly. It will just be more motivation to stay on our game so we can prove our tires worth!! :D

Like you wouldn't have laughed anyway -_-

What size did you get? Bigger than 39.5" and they have bigger lugs.... whole different tire.

Okay, so ya got me on that one. Just the 39.5", even with my very good self esteem, I'm not crazy enough to think my poor itty bitty 44 would hold up to anything bigger. And really, that's going to be a huge jump in size since it's been a while since the ole 38's had a ton of tread on them. I am a bit sad though, went to down to check on their shipping progress today and they haven't even shipped yet! :( So maybe next Thursday...
