I would Long Travel with res. shocks, 64" Chevy spring swap in the. Rear, 1uzfe swap into the PU, armor it with winch in the front and winch points around the truck for a manual winch, roll cage interior, buy a welder to tub it and weld the armor on, spray in bed liner, extra gas can holders in the bed, cb radio interior with antenna, new radio system with, with GPS on the stereo deck, and speakers inside the cab hooked to the cb radio, 4 point harness, and custom built tool box in the ex cab section for... Tools, parts, and recovery parts, maybe even a gun holder inside it. And maybe look into either turbo or s/c under the hood, if turbo rear mount inter cooler.

I think that might be it :p

I'd use it as a down on a 2012 4-door Rubicon, sell the 4Runner for extra cash and pay the rest myself.

I dont mind the diaper-shit green color

I'd start by trading in my 2009 I5 truck for an otherwise identically optioned 2010 v8 version, and swap over the handful of armor upgrades I've put on my truck. New black wheels with slightly less backspacing than stock and 35s. Winch bumper w/winch. Tonneau cover. Toss the double din head unit and replace with a single din head unit + single din sized CB. Since I'm far short of the $20k, I guess I'd put on a 4" lift on it as well as exhaust. I could probably track down a few suspension parts that are stronger than the stock parts, but I'm out of ideas with probably $5k+ left to spend.

I would keep my eyes out for one of these cheap nice buggies that people sell and pick one of them up. They seem to usually be priced around that.

To be honest I'd love me an H3 and I almost thought about trading in my truck for one. Slap a RTT on there and it would be a killer camping rig.
