Some of you know my buddy Scott from wheeling many years ago....
He and his family live on Galveston. Here is trying to talk his way back onto the island today. He does not know the state of his home yet. 2 of his nieghbors houses burned to the ground. His office had over 8ft of water and the STEEL huricane door is GONE!! His FIL stayed on the island. His home had 3ft of water, his brick boat house and dock are GONE. Nieghbors dock is in the front yard a few houses away. And there are FISH STUCK to the WALLS in the houses. That is how much force the water came in with!!

It is awful!! I am trying to get down there to help....

those pictures are crazy. I haven't been paying attention so I didn't know it was so bad.

I was in guam when a big typhoon hit comparable to these storms. It was the craziest night/day of my life. I felt like I was in a psycho washing machine. Imagine being in a house that is completely dark with metal shutters on all the windows just listening to trees crack and things hitting the house. I was just waiting for a boat or car or tree to come through the house. The vent pipes that come out of the roof would howl similiar to blowing across the top of a empty bottle only way louder. It was unreal. The waves flooded a few cemeteries and there were caskets floating down the street just like that picture. Crazy. Coming out the next day is the weirdest feeling. The air has an eery feeling to it and everything was trashed. It snapped hundreds of power poles right in half, flipped cars, leveled houses etc. We did service for almost a month after trying to clean up and went without power for almost 6 weeks and we were the early ones to get it.
