Gotcha, so that is a replacement block. Fits with the burned up motor background you have. If that motor every gives up the ghost, lets find you a period correct motor to swap back in. Then again you could use a steel stamp letter set to make it the same year :D

I love old iron. I also love the idea of a stock one for ice cream runs and around but a BIG BAD Mean one for the wheeling seen.

What is happiness?

Driving the new cruiser and having it run like it was new,
Owning a cruiser,
tinkering around after work and finding more cool things,
Owning a cruiser,
Pulling up the original floor covering to wash it and finding this!

How much is this cruiser worth. I know of two of them that are in about the same original condition. A red one with 60000 orig. miles currently registered rarely driven. And a blue one that has been sitting for 25 years. Neither person is hurting for cash or interested in selling I am just curious. And you never know everything is for sale for the right price.

Finding a cruiser that has minimum rust is an excellent foundation for a restoration. Most of the time the value comes to the owner/buyer because of the condition. Cruisers are rust buckets and finding one in this condition is a great find. Then add in the millage and that everything is complete and works! Heater kicks some but.
