Here's my twin pennies. When gas hit $3, I told the wifey I was going to buy a TJ, and start comutting with it. Ok, not exactly an econo car, but twice the mileage my V-10 gets.
Looked at a ton of really nice Jeeps over a couple months. Sat down and figured out numbers, and decided a Rubicon was actually a good bargin when you start pricing lockers and what not.
Found a dealer in town selling a Ruby for a decnt price, so we went to check her out. Had pretty much everything I wanted. Hard top, A/C, auto, ect. Wouldn't butyit because it was yellow, and I hate yellow. Sitting on the lot near it was an LJ. Now, I have shown pictures of them to her, and her response was "that's the ugliest thing Jeep has ever built". Then, she opened the tailgate. Her tounge dropped, and I knew I was screwed fer sure.
The search changed at that moment. Found a great deal on an LJ, and wouldn't ya know it, it's Yellow! Ok, I can live with that.
IF you can find a Ruby you like and the price is right, you get the 44's front and rear, as well as the lockers and 4 to 1 kit already. I went with the LJ for a couple reasons. The room is nice, and they aren't making them anymore. Ever compared the price of a CJ7 compared to a Scrambler? I'm hoping this thing holds it's value like the old 8's did.
