Indiana is a long way from utah, but I wheel there annually!

I'm Roger... and yes, I really make the more than 3000 mile round trip annually just to wheel in Utah. In fact, I'll be heading that way in about 7 to 8 weeks! whoo hoo

I've been wheeling all my life, first mini bike, to 3 wheel ATV, to dirt bikes, to a 78 CJ-5, and my latest 01 TJ.

The TJ is roughly 4 1/2 inches of lift, ford 8.8 with disc brakes, yukon 4:56 gears, ARB lockers front and rear, and some Cepek Crushers for traction. Oh yeah... can't forget the Sirius!!! Gotta have tunes...

Have to run now, but wanted to say hey!

Welcome on behalf of RME and the U4WDA.
Be sure to read all the instructions in "Introductions & using the Forum".

U4WDA believes the four wheeling community is best served by:
1. Education thru the use of classes, pamphlets, and films to teach responsible conservation.
2. Use Auto Dealerships and suppliers for the distribution of information.
3. Support Utah Counties in obtaining Quiet Claims to roads within their jurisdiction.
4. Stays informed and work closely with all Government Agencies and local law enforcement.
5. Where practical uses peer pressure to keep OHV use within the law.
6. Inform local agencies and law enforcement of illegal OHV use.

We promote the following: BRC/UFWDA: National legislation, action alerts, lobbying, etc
USA-All:- Local legislation, action alerts, lobbying, etc
U4WDA: On the ground actions. Service projects, education, club training, broadcasting the needs of Usa-All, UFWDA & BRC to its member clubs. Require clubs to be members of Usa-All, UFWDA & BRC, tie it into dues.
Member Clubs: Rides, education, hats, jackets, newsletters, raffles, etc. Require membership in U4WDA
Individuals: Join a club and promote responsible use amongst fellow travelers.

thanks everyone... with so many with connections to Indiana, I wonder if I could use that as a convincing argument to move west!

jinxspot - pm me and i will give a ring while out that way!

jackjoh - in the 70s, i wasn't a very good about "stay the trail" but then again many of us weren't! I'm an avid supporter of stay the trail and am very vocal with not only my local elected officials, but have made my voice heard on many topics during the "open for public comment" phase in Colorado, Idaho, Utah, California, and New Mexico. I get most of my news as a member of Colorado4x4, and have tried (to no avail) to get our local jeep club involved more with initiatives in and out of state.

My take is if more people out of state get involved, it only shows how it helps the economy when peeps like me spend money to make the trip... and to know when we get there, we appreciate it and act responsibly!
