Interesting cage design

my only question is what the hell did he do with the pipe after going down the side of the windshield?

He probably did something similar to this one:

Looks kick ass. I am very much so looking forward to doing this to mine. but the more I think about it, wouldn't this specific way of designing the cage make it pretty top heavy? all the pipe it on the roof.

So, rockmonkey have you noticed the XJ being more top heavy with this type of cage?

I would imagine it would be a little more top heavy, but It couldnt be a lot more top heavy, its only a few inchs higher than an internal cage, I would just maybe use a little less tube,or have some of the stringers out of smaller tube. I think he might of went a little overboard.

I like the basic cage, the "detail" is a bit overkill but also makes it "fit" better. I'm a little disappointed with the inside work for the rear of that cage. I'm not sure, but wouldn't it have made it stronger to tie that second tube to the floor as well?

Rockmonkey, I do really like what you have done with yours, and is a lot closer to something I might think about if I get a rig to that stage.

I dunno, I haven't been wheeling in an XJ for about 15 years. This one has yet to leave the garage. It does have a transmission that shifts now though!

yeah i bet its so top heavy he can't turn while going over 5 mph... you guys are being ridiculous

anyone over 5'5" tall probably can't fit in an xj with an internal cage unless they love bouncing their head off tube... when my snowflake is ready for a cage i am going to do something similar, probably not as much unnecessary tube, but more like braden's snowflake
