IRO double shear track bar hitting.

Not liking my new IRO double shear track bar right now.

I picked this up thinking it would be my last track bar ever. It says good for 3-8"of lift. Im at 4" and it hits the spring perch. I called IRO, they said bumpstop it (already is), align it (done that) and right now my alignment guy hates this thing. It's in spec and we've adjusted thing's to where we thought it wouldn't hit but was out of spec. I quit bothering him about it.
My last option is to cut the spring perch and make clearance.
In my honest opinion this track bar is no good for anything under 5" .
I wish it would interchange with their HD bar, so I could go back to the stock frame bracket but they said it's a right hand thread. No worky. So disappointed.

Trimming the spring perch won't hurt anything.

Alternatively, you could cheat the front axle to the driver's side just a tad, if you don't want to trim.

I hope it works cause I'd hate to think I just wasted my money on this. If it dosent, Also was wondering if I could swap out the end for some sort of flex joint and use the stock bracket ?

OK. I trimmed a bit off the edge and rotated the track bar in one turn. That gives me 1/8" to the drivers side.
While I was at it I centered the steering wheel.

Lost one of my hockey pucks. Probably cause I didn't clean it very well and the cold when I installed em.

New pucks in. Trying some "right stuff" for glue this time.

I use whatever RTV I have around to stick my pucks together, I haven't lost one. One of mine has even split and is still there. Oh wait that is not entirely true, I have a steel rod through mine that doesn't go up through the top puck, of course I have stacks of like 4-6 pucks...

Oh and if it makes you feel better I can't remember the last part that I have bought that I didn't need to modify in some way to work on my xj. I am currently trying to track down matching spare rim with the same backspacing as the 4 I have on the jeep, I can't seem to get an identical one so I will put the new one that has .5 inches more backspacing on the spare, but I will probably have to move my license plate bracket or modify my tire mount. (I currently have an old 37x12.5x15 for spare, it would be nice to actually have a matching spare...)

I had to replace my electric fan, yup I had to cut a little plastic off of it so I can install/remove the fan without removing my york...

Something told me I shoulda kept the stock bracket and gone with a different TB . But..... No, I had to go overboard with the track bar.[emoji6]

Anyways here's a pic of it during flex. Those little things helped and it's not hitting now. In case someone googled this up.

The "right stuff" rtv is holding the pucks great.

I ran that setup on my old xj on 31s and low lift. I wonder if something is bent

Nope. I just had it aligned again last week just to make sure my changes didn't affect anything and my control arms are beefy.
I did find one thread about this recently and he did the same but never posted if it fixed it.
All is good and going straight down the road.
