fjwear said:When I called (Safety and emmisions place) all they said is that they go by the height and wight of the truck. So for my cruiser the 4600, I believe it can be 24" from the ground to the lowest part of the frame.
I would call a safety and emmisions place and ask them.

spiderman said:I am state/IM licenced, and I just looked in my certification book for safety the other week- Under 100" wheelbase, frame cannot be more than 24" off the ground. Over 100", I can't remember. But I did look at the suspension part. You can NOT legally change the suspension design of a vehicle (according to the state rules), but who cares? I have never heard of anyone failing safety inspection from that. If it doesn't look dangerous, it should pass. Technically, you can't even run a springover legally, but it still passes.

Remebering the conversation I think you have with the UHP. (I think it was you) it is not legal to alter the way the vehicle is attached to the axle. Meaning, the UHP does not want anyone to remove or alter spring purches and/or mounting hard ware.

Shawn said:The hight of the vehicle is not based on the wheelbase any longer. SOA is legal as long as the axle/rig came that way from the factory.
Might want to get an updated IM book..
Note:
I'm not starting a fight just basing the info on the New Lift Laws.
