Is There a Cure For This?

I'm pretty much done with my Samurai rebuild. Everything mechanical is done, it is exactly the way I have dreamt about having it for 10 years. All I have left is a bit of body work and paint.
So what happens to me today? THIS!

A 1970 Datsun 510. I have always thought that these are cool, but never really looked too hard for one. We'll now I have one and it basically fell into my lap.
Sunday night I was leaving St. George for Las Vegas to take the Immigration Enforcement Agent exam (Which I think I did quite well on). I was filling up at the Texaco on Bluff Street and I noticed this little fella sitting by the Dixieland Tire and Service next door. It looked to be in pretty good shape for a 40 year old econobox.
On my way back to Salt Lake Monday I stopped by again and spoke with the owner. Turned out he was planning on dismantling it an selling off the parts, but if I wanted to buy the whole thing he would sell it to me for what he bought it for. A whopping $250! $250!!!!
So now I am the proud owner of a 1970 Datsun 510 4-door sedan in non-running condition with a pretty straight body and a sun beaten interior. I won't lie, I am super stoked, but I just got done with a pretty expensive rebuild on a vehicle most people would just toss. Do I really need another one? At least my wife is excited for this one.:D

The approval of the spouse is 9/10ths the battle.

If you like it, and will enjoy building it, why worry about it?

Oh, I'm not worried at all. I mostly find it funny that just as I'm finishing up one project another one presents itself.

That's the way it should happen... I just don't ever get close to finishing one before picking up a new one, so I guess I'm doing it wrong?:hickey:

That there is a Guatemalan police car. I was chased down by a couple police officers in Guatemala City in one of those after I drove over the median while doing a U turn in my old lifted 85 Toyota 4x4. I vote that you find out how they get so much power out of those little cars down there and upgrade yours.

You lucky bastard. I used to have one of those...well it was a much cooler 2 door. Perfect condition. But I was broke and sold it. :(

I want another so badly.

Looks pretty cool

I don't know the first thing about the 510's or any of the early Datsuns but there is a scrap yard near me with a ton of Datsun cars and trucks. Next time I am up there I'll see if he has anything similar to yours. I don't like to go there any more than I have to because the guy and his wife scare the poo out of me and they are on drugs so it might be awhile :greg:
