IS there any trails by Gunison?

Does anyone know if there are jeep trails in the Palisades (Gunnison) area?

Yes. Right out the gate from Palisade is six mile canyon. drive it as far as you can make it till you hit snow. The Sheep trail in Manti is great wheelin', and Ephraim has hanging tree and and Ephraim Canyon/new canyon. The west side of the valley has tons of trails to explore as well.

wow that is quite a bit more than i expected to be down there. do you know about how difficult these trails are, or what type of terrain they are?

Hanging tree is hardest, think 35" tires and lockers. Then the Sheep trail, stock rigs can do it, but a lift definately helps. all the rest can be done with a stock rig, depending on muddy-ness. the stuff on the east side of the valley is forest, to the west is pinyon juniper. I haven't been up to Sanpete for a while so I don't know if things are muddy or not.
