No problems at all here. Is it just that spot, or does your phone do it everywhere?

Try updating your phone. I can't remember the digits you dial but that might work. It's like # and two digits... maybe somebody will chime in with that.

btw - mine seems fine.

My phone does it every once in awhile... usually when I am on the road and bouncing betweein digital and analog. Alot of times (such as yesterday in Delta) it would show me with full-bars of digital, but when I would dial it would drop to analog. My buddy had his T-mobile with him... no service :D

Huh. Try the update, *22899 send. If that doesn't help call 611 and let customer service know of the problem. They take service issues very seriously when they hear about them from a few people. They just recently put a new tower in at Jordan Landing. I don't know where in West Valley you are but you may be getting service from one of the towers that was recently changed. They only know of problems like this when people tell them.

Its mostly west valley if you out by 5600 west and between 5400 south and 30th south it is terrible reception. When ever I have to build a house out there I can count on not getting half of my phone calls and all of them getting dropped

Eh? Odd, I live at about 35th south and 6200 west and my wife and I both get good reception in our house. I don't think I've dropped a call here. What phone do you have? Different models have very different reception, believe it or not. You don't happen to have an LG-VX4500 do you?

i have the LG vx8300 my brother has somthin else not sure and my room mate has the razor and we all have the same problem

Strange, the 8300, and the razr have both been good phones. The Razr probably has a touch better reception than the LG. Give 611 a call.

Th model number is VX-9800, and it's also been a good phone. Not quite as good reception as the newer Motorolas, but pretty good.

I live just off 5600 West & 5400 South. Reception in that general area blows bigtime! I've tried updating our phones several times with no success. If I'm in our basement, I can't get anything. Not even a single bar. I've complained several times. All they say is they can do nothing. I'm gonna try to get out of the contract if they can't get my problem fixed. I've been with Verizon for about 6 months and it's been the same coverage wise at our place. I've got the Motorola E815.

I've seen the same problem with Verizon. There's a specific place on the mountain where we hunt that you can get a signal. Last year the two Verizon phones in camp had all kinds of problems calling out but my Cellular One service went through everytime.

My work has now unfortunately switched contracts over to Verizon and this year we were up in the same area for a reunion and mine and one other phone that was Verizon service had full signals but never would go through. The one phone that wasn't Verzion, can't remember the provider, went through everytime.
Then on the deer hunt this year all three phones in camp were Verizon and all three had the same full signal but wouldn't call out. It really made me miss my Cellular One service. Plus Verizon is more expensive than most other providers so why people go with them I'll never know.

That's strange, We have better coverage area with Verizon than we did with....
Cingular, Qwest, and Worldcomm(doesn't really count cause they are gone now.)
And as far as prices go they seem to be about the same, it's give and take depending on the company but I've been very happy with our service with Verizon.

I've NOT been pleased with my Nokia 82** from Verizon........I bought it because I have a TON of Nokia accessories from my other Nokia phones. I've not dropped many/any calls in the past few years with ATT/Cingular (had them for the past 5 years or so other than my trip to the basin for a few months) but the Nokia with Verizon is not that impressive. Most people in my office went with a Motorola and haven't had any issues, but I've dropped 3-4 calls in the past month.

I HATE the ring tones and the 'closed' network (you have to buy ringtones from Verizon and pretty much only them).
