You're probably right, I just feel bad for the average dudes over there just waiting for their house to be bombed. It is not land all the fighting is about, it is racial ideologies and that is what bothers me the most.

I hear you, loud and clear. I couldn't imagine trying to make a living over there with all that is going on.

Now you are reading it the same way I am. I see on TV how they have for generations set up their homes to be bomb shelters, and they live inside for weeks hoping that the next bomb does not hit them. Also look at the world history that is there. No matter where you lived in the country you would be close to artifacts and history that is no where else in the world.

I think you are reading into this too much.

Yes.

To me the size/significance does not relate together. Take England or France in the world war, not many square miles there compared to the enemies, but a huge player in the war.

Sure. England is about 1/3 the size of France yet they were actually able to fight during WWII rather than just building worthless defenses (hello? maginot line?) and then surrending.

Yeah it sucks. The Palestinians and Arabs have some legit gripes, and some other gripes that are legit from their perspective although insane from our perspective. It's interesting how it comes down to your relation to any given problem. From the Israeli's perspective, they live in the land promised to them and they'll never leave. From the Palestinian's perspective, Israelis occupy land stolen from them by the UN and they won't stop until they have their land back. From the Arab's perspective, they hate Jews and want the Israelis out of their neighborhood.

For some strange reason my wifes sister moved over there a couple of years ago and she really likes it. She said she felt some kind of calling to go live amoung her people when she found out there is Jewish blood in the family tree. Personally I think she's up a tree.
