Without the lobbyists from the other side, we very likely wouldn't need lobbyists for own interests. It's a lop-sided game and the side with the most money is the side that wins. Not the side with the most support. That's the problem because special interests usually have a lot of money to push through their own ideological agendas. Goes for both sides. It's a corrupt system and I'd love to see it all (metaphorically) burn.
Not exactly true. There has been no study to prove that there is a donation to vote correlation. It sounds really good, and gets you to hate the government. Here is a website you should become familiar with

This shows all the money that moves through Politicians from lobbyist. We must remember just because I receive a donation and vote for something doesn't mean my vote was bought. For example I run for congress and win. I have agenda to keep trails open in Utah. Who would love me to be elected? U4wda would, so they would donate to my campaign, so I could stay in office. To clarify to show I was "bought " you would need to show clear example where I vote against my standards. If so then my constituents need to fire me, and vote in someone who represents their values.
If the argument becomes that I am so crooked that I receive so much money I can buy an election. Lets remember opensecrets.com:

That is not that much money! There are many cases where the loser spends way more than the winner.

Brandon brings some good points to the table and i agree that its just not as simple as it used to be to see whats going on. The canidates that have a agenda that people like the most will get the most lobbyist money, not that it is impossible that people do try and buy canidates out but i dont think its as often as we think. I agree most of our goverment is crooked and dirty, but i had a teacher would always said " We have the worst goverment in the world, except for all the rest" so meaning yes our goverement is screwed up in many ways but its still much better all around than the rest of the world
