There's a good spot right at the Faust turnoff for trucks/trailers.

Me and DaveN have CB's. Usually monitor ch 19 . If anyone needs a tune LMK.

I'd like to use my chains this year and do some more manifold cooking. Gonna be wore out and hungry at the top.[emoji54]
Probably a good idea to stagger those with winches in between to keep the flow going.

We could drop trailers at Faust for those towing, there is a dirt road that runs along the tracks heading South that meets back up with the Highway and then hit the turnoff for Black Rock Canyon.

Faust isn't exactly on the way from 5-mile to Black Rock Canyon...? Not sure why you'd want to go that far out of the way to drop trailers.

Why not just drop the trailers at the turnoff HERE

That's fine by me, I figured there was more pavement for the tow rigs going to Faust.

That's the spot I was referring to.
But those of you who are allergic to MUD may want to bow out. [emoji23]

I've been checking out manifold cooking OR re-heating as some would say.
Looking at my XJ engine bay, I have found 3 possible locations to cook stuff.
The 1st is right in front near the header and power steering pump.
Kind of a hole to cook canned goods.
There's a head bolt that reads 240°.
Header 400°
I'll make something round to hold a can of chili OR other.

2nd location (before TB)
145°

3rd. (Behind TB)
206°

Also found a cool simple cooker to make out of a small loaf pan.

Just over a week away, anyone know what the snow levels are looking like out in the desert?

Zero lol. It snowed Wednesday but the wind blew so hard none of it stuck, and it's been warmish even since then.

I probably live the closest to this trail out of those going, and I have no snow.

In the mountains above me there may be a few inches, haven't been up to check depths but I can see snow on them.
