hello i just got a dana 70, the guy i got it from said it was a ford rear, i got the bom on it and looked it up and found out it was a 1985 jeep dana 70 cj 10A military. What i would like to know is , is it worth building on at all? to take the drum off it looks like you have to take out the inner shaft and the hub comes off with the drum as one piece , any help would be nice , thanks.

BOM # 605242 2

that's pretty typical of earlier stuff, like say... 14 bolts LOL if it's the right width for you, use it. Get a disc kit from DYI or Blackbirds or someone, and get to it.

Too bad you didn't get the rest of the CJ10! I've wanted one of those things since before I could walk...

I agree though. If it fits, use it. It is very common to have to remove the hub/shaft to get the drum off. Most older full floats are this way.
