Jeep Wrangler YJ 4 seater buggy. This started off as a 1989 YJ Islander. I've owned it since 2008 and had it built from stock. The only thing that is currently stock is the red sheet metal. It was professionally built by Ben Hanks Racing and Distortion Fabrication. This is built for high speed and crawling. It is very strong and reliable. All bugs worked out, it works amazing.
Drivetrain-
-8.1 vortec motor with tune and emissions delete, about 400hp/500tq (80k miles, out of a 2004 gmc truck)
-Built TH400 transmission (Interstate transmission rebuild about 50 miles ago)
-New Atlas 3.8 2 speed transfer case (new 50 miles ago)
-Dana 80 rear axle with disc brakes and truss, spool, 5.38 gears.
-Dana 60 front axle, ECGC snow fighter with 3.5" tubes (300m RCV axle shafts, Reed knuckles, 5.38 gears, spool, Artec Industries high steer arm, ECGC solid hubs with caps.
-410 u-joint drive shafts with 1/4" wall tube.
Suspension-
The suspension was built and tuned on two separate days by Matt Bell at Desert Speed shock tuning. The suspension is very dialed for high speed and rock crawling and is very stable. All shocks and bumpstops rebuilt about 75 miles ago.
Rear- Fox 2.0 coilovers with remote reservoirs, fox 4 inch bump stops, limiting straps, 4 link with lower 2.5 inch solid aluminum arms, all 1.25 inch heims.
Front- fox 2.0 shocks with remote reservors, foam bumps, AAA custome springs, limiting straps.
Everything else-
40 Sticky Maxxis Trepador tires, 17 beadlock wheels, 24 inch belly at ride height, 114 inch wheelbase, 3/16 plate boat sides, 3/16 bolt on full belly pan, Warn X8000i winch with synthetic rope and Factor 55 aluminum shackle mount, PSC Full hydraulic steering with removable leather steering wheel, Optima blue top battery, K&N Air filter with skin, custom very large radiator with dual electric fans, transmission cooler, cage and all tubes are 1 3/4 dom, 15 gallon RCI Aluminum fuel cell, Corbeau front suspension seats, rear bench and seat belts, Art Carr shifter, bluetooth stereo with boat speakers, fire extinguisher, rear storage with tools and spare parts, snap on custom soft top (sugar house awning), front and rear led lights, Poison Spider vented hood, quick release hood clips.
Sad to see it go, but life priorities have changed. This buggy was built right and works well. It's currently prepped and ready to hit the trails. Fresh oils and fluids last week.
Title in hand, currently registered for off-road.
