Wow, I was under the impression that he was on the actual sand dunes when this happened. I didn't know that they had done the Caanan mountain trail. Has anyone heard where the accident actually happened?

Also, this is the trail where a couple guys from St. George/Cedar got some tickets by the BLM earlier this spring. One guy fought the ticket and won.

As an FYI, this in an awesome trail.

Yes they had done the Canan Mtn Trail and the trail has according to BLM paper work been closed since 1980. If caught on Canan you are given a 300 fine and ticketed for riding in a closed area. I work with two guys in Hurricane Utah that were ticketed and 6 others in there group that day. The gentlemen from Cedar was ticketed the case thrown out by the judge and the BLM contested the judges decision and he was recharged for riding in a closed area. I will know by I believe wednesday what becomes of the court date. They have met with the judge one time over the issue and prosecuting attorney also several individuals with the county who claim the road as a RS 2477. Interesting case as this area was declared PROPOSED WILDERNESS Before 1980 the cut off date etc etc.. Interesting deal that I hope USA ALL is still involved with. I will give you news when I find out.
