JK Build up - Getting ready for EJF11

Its been a few months in the work. Just over a month ago I picked up my long awaited JK. I have been wheeling a TJ and loved it, but have always wanted a JK. With four kids wanting to join in on the fun it made difficult for everyone to participate.

I had a 2.5" Teraflex long arm and a 1" body lift on the TJ. I love the Teraflex lift. So, before I picked up the Jk I made a stop in at Teraflex and started talking with Sam and Ben. After much discussion about hight, stability, overall performance it was determined that the 6" LCG Long Arm lift, with speedbumps and Elka shocks would be the best way to go. We also determined that Goodyear MT/R Kevlars 38x14.5x17's.

I stopped by today to check out the progress, its coming long very well. I have posted a couple pics to show the progress. There will be more to come!!

Just stopped by Tera to see how things were coming along and drop off the wheels. They pretty much have the lift, Elkas, and speed bumps done. Bob was hard at work on the gears and axels. Snapped a couple pictures of the progress.

Had a few extras arrive this afternoon. Poison Spyder Brawler front bumper with skid, Front and Rear Crusher Fenders, and Rocker Knocker's with Body Armer. They are going to the powder room tomorrow morning.

Stopped by Teraflex on Friday on my way to the airport. Just need front and rear bumpers, flares, and rock sliders. All of which are at Utah Powder Coating. They will be done Wednesday. Then we will be having a party at Jason's house putting them on. If anyone wants to stop by let me know. We could use some help.

Picked up the JK from Teraflex this morning. I cant believe how well the Elka shocks ride. The 6" LCG Long Arm handles great. The 5:38 gears are perfect for turning those large 38x14.5 MTR's, and the Expedition One rear bumper is the best out there. Wanted to thank Ben, Sam, Jason, Cory, and Bob at Teraflex for taking care of me.

The flares, front bumper, and rock sliders should be completed at Utah Powder Coating tomorrow.

You are going to love the Elka's with the speed bumps, I have been running that set up on my JK for almost a year now and it just makes life so much easier on the trial.

So, when I ordered the flares, rock sliders, body armor, and front bumper I did realize how much work it was going to take. I have to give BIG thanks to a couple buddies that came over Monday night and stayed until 2am helping get the flares and front bumper on. Yesterday was spent putting the body armor and rock sliders.

I have been impressed with the Elkas and speed bumps. I cant wait for EJS! Hope to see you all out on the trails.
