I believe I want a soft top for my JKU. I'll keep the hard top for the winter but kind of want a softop for the summer. Who's had good experience with which Mopar tops? Any good aftermarkets? I really like my Bestop on my YJ tub. Bestop good stuff for JK?

What's the skinny?

I really like the look of the bestop trek too nx. I prefer the frameless. I am curious what you end up with as I would like to get one next year.

I have a TrekTop NX and love the looks of the slant back. My son also runs the TrekTop NX on his LJ.

My wife likes the sunrider feature of flipping the top back on the TrekTop.

Mike, how is the noise factor on the TrekTop? Worse or similar to a stock hard top?

Not quite as quiet as the OEM hardtop but also not nearly as noisy as I thought it would be. My wife even commented about how nice it is to hear the radio and talk while cruising down the interstate. Again, she really likes the Sunrider feature when we are wheeling to flip the top back and have the top open without really having to remove anything. I will keep the top back for anything under around the 40-45 MPH range but if I am going to be getting up over that or back on the highway, I pull the top back into place. It is only about a minute job on this top.

I will admist the new model with the flip up rear glass looks like a very nice feature. My only complaint is the issue of having to undue the tabs under the rails to access the rear area after opening the rear gate. It isn't a big deal but the flip up OEM style glass sure would be nice. I think that model is about twice the price though, but don't quote me. I am afraid to look too hard at that top.

I will be putting my soft top on in about three weeks, you are welcome to get ahold of me and go for a ride if you like to see for yourself.

Mike.

Marc, I have the Mopar top. It's nearly double the cost of a trek top nx. It's a good top, very quiet. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Trek top. I hate the legs on the top after I've zipped out the windows.

I got one last night. Brand new Mopar top. Downloaded a decibel app for my phone. Hardtop is at 84 max decibels, soft top at 86 (unless you get hit by a 2" rock in the windshield and then it goes up to 94).

I guess I always figured the soft top would be a lot louder than the hard top. How much of a hassle is it to get into the back with the OEM soft setup?

You have to release the tension on the rear window by pulling the bar out of the side clips and unzip the sides of the back window. Not to bad at all.
