Joe's crazy buggy

So, I see a lot of pictures in a back yard and on a ramp in a back yard and on some construction debris in front(?) yard. Has this thing ever been on a trail?

and what does that sub frame thing in the back do?

Wheels all the time, at browns camp mostly. Heres some videos http://4wheelin.ning.com
The sub frame is gust a different way to drop a way from the axel.

Blowing a hydro line (if everything is put together correctly) is less likely than breaking a leaf spring/coilover/air shock.
having working with hydro's for 5 years, and replacing who knows how many blown lines on NEW equipment.
i wouldnt compare a leaf spring to a hydro line. the coil over/air shocks is a better way of looking at it sense there just Orings and ruber pistons.
leaf springs dont crack apart, heat up or cool down (unless your cutting on it) nothing more trusting then a good ole leafspring. :hickey:

This is a pretty cool rig! Hydro on a wheelin' rig is pretty awesome. It is obvious that a lot of thought and innovation went into this build. I will admit that some of the fabrication looks weird, but hey it works.

This is not the first rig I have seen with hydro. Jason Paule with Twisted Customs in Rapid City, SD built a Bronco with hydro 10+ years ago. It is still on the trail today and has put many buggies to shame. I have wheeled with this beast and can tell you first hand it performs without issue. The key is the hydaulics are additional to the suspension so it can be wheeled with no hydro. Hey, if it works for one of the industries best fabricators/buggy builders, then it is good enough for anyone. You can check it out at blackhills4wheelers.com. It was on the trail two weeks ago for the stock tire challenge running 21 inch temp spares. Bright orange bronco, can't miss it.

i have replaced 3 broken leaf spring in the last 4 years. 1 cherokee and 2 yj. 2 broke on the trail 1 from daily driving use. leafs do break. i would still trust a leaf spring over a hydrilic line any day.

thats cus its a jeep

mine are almost 40 years old, still working grate. im not saying they can never brake, (tho normally the ones that do is cus there rig is to heavy for the set you have or your flexing them apart) but there way more trusting.
