I sitll don't think you are getting enough pressure.

on a GM Tbi, the injectors pulse with the ignition timing, the MAP sensor only adjust the pulse width (rich or lean) you need a tool called a noid light, pull off the connector to the injector and put the leads of the noid light onto the connectors then have someone crank the engine it'll blink if you have injector pulse, If you don't have spark either it's probabbly the ignition module, it can take both out at the same time.

well, the first thing that tells me he is getting spark is if they dump fuel down the throttle body they can get it to run, it wouldn't run without spark.

Marc, I had a problem with my fuel regulator on my 4.3 TBI. You can buy a rebuild kit at any parts store for like $15 or so, IIRC. They are extremely simple to do as well, just a simple diamphram and a spring and some gaskets.

You need to know if you're getting signal before you start tearing the tb apart. it could be electric, not mechanical. and a HOT GM TBI can run without spark, especially with 92 Octane. (just trust me on this one, I've chased my tail before because it will.)

It's not a hot motor, stock out of a Suburban.... and by the time we were done swearing at it, it was not hot anymore either... and it would still run then with gas pored in.

I mean Hot as in running for quite a while 215-240* with 9.5+ compression, but it is more likely a bad ground to the harness.

Comes in a red and white can at all the auto parts stores. Made all the difference in the world on my XJ. You pour a 1/3 of the can through the throttle body and it smokes like a mother for while, but then itll run like a champ after.

We tried all the stupid stuff. The lines, the filter (it's 3ish years old, could be replaced, but it didn't seem to be the problem), took the fuel regulator off the TBI and I'm getting fuel to that point, it just doesn't want to spray......

Sounds like the regulator or the injectors to me then. Was it spraying at all?

I'm with 78mitsu on this one, had the same problem and turned out to be the ignition module!

No spray at the injector when cranking. If you give it a little shot of gas (or a big bath) it'll start and run for a few seconds.

Or not. The harness is grounded on the intake where it was originally in the donor vehicle. I'm even still using the GM type battery cables. I'm SURE it's fuel related. It's either the some injector relay (?), the fuel regulator or the injectors. It ran totally fine for months and then just quit running. I'm pretty sure it's electrical based, but in the fuel system. I'll post up when I figure it out.

Hey, I forgot about this yesterday. Pinch off the return line. If ya get it to squirt, then the regulator is toast. No squirt afterwards can only be electrical (or bad pump, which I highly doubt).

Ya that's why I covered both kinds of hot, it was hot when it quit running, but 2 hours later it wasn't ;)
