Here are a few pics as of today 7-26. This is what my exo cage looks like, right now but it will be put on hold while I am swapping both axles, and installing marlins high steer!

I am open to suggestions. Plans are still there to do a bar right behind the hood, as well as many more gussetts!

Thats nice............

Honestly I personally don't like from the back side of the rear fender back, if that makes sense, I would love to someday make that the back of my 4runner, and do some sort of coil, or 1/4 elipticals or somthing, but for now it will do!

Looks fine Tim. Who's making the bends for you?

Build what you like, not what everyone tells you to build. ;)

JR's muffler is bending if for me, got any ideas of what I could do from the rear fender back? Its really bugging me!

I didnt mean to come off like a jerk and I hope that is not how you took it. Really the only thing that I think I dont care for is the front bars that connect to the stinger. I think that it would have looked better made into some sort of tube fender. That being said sorry again and I agree bobbed runners look good.

cut the hell out of it, that is my suggestion. i did it and i am very happy with it! you saw my junk, now do it. i know a guy with a p cutter (me) :D

body panels suck unless they are bashed up imo
but my hood and fenders don't have much damage so i am a hypocrite :ugh:

do what you want as long as it adds capability and/or safety. i am not a fan of exos due to the unnecessary weight, and lack of structural integrity. imo protecting passengers is much more important than body panels. to make the exo functional as a roll cage means lots of weight.

join the hood and fender club, do you ever hear me complaining about not having panels?? or even cody or olly(actually olly complains about not being streetable)?

Nah, it didn't come across as that, I said I was open to comments. Honestly I don't really like how far my 4runner stick back, but if I bob any off Then I would need shorter springs, so for now it will stay this length, but I cant wait to have it shorter. I would like the body to stop right at the rear wheel well and also cut to top to follow the roll cage line. There are more supports planned. It will be triangulated through the cab right behind the front seats and again behind the passenger seat! There is stilll a lot of work to do!

Personally, having been there and done that, I'd cut it off too. )Sorry, I'm not trying to be a smarta$$) I found the cage on my 4Runner was getting me hung up far more then it was protecting anything.... In my case, the hard top was mandatory (kid thing), so I thought my only choice was the exo. I've since seen the light.... BOB IT!!!! I took 10 inches off the back, and found I have even more storage now then I did then. Puting the spare out on the bumper gained me far more room inside then what I lost with the bob job, and no, I didn't change springs. Swap over to a pick up tailgate and springs if you do bob it though, it'll gain you a couple more inches of storage (I wish I had)...

Don't suppose you work at Lube Doc?

Yah I do.

I was actually looking into a bob job, I was thinking of cutting the body all the way to the spring hangers, probably 8" and cutting the hard top right between the windows, whatever I do though, I hope its better than what I have right now, I really don't like it in the back there!

I would prefer it to look more like this.
