This was one of the sketchiest spots of the trail. Pictures never quite capture it (I guess it's the curse of Moab). The blue webbing was there, but it ended about a foot past the ledge. We didn't get close enough to find out how far the ledge went down. We clipped my rope on and headed down. it looked a lot worse than it was.

We had to lower fender down on a rope.

My wife was a champ. She was nervous, but she faced her fears and just headed on down calmly. This trail definitely pushed her mentally (and a little bit physically as well).

There was a ledge to walk around the rest of the drop.

This is what we came down:

This was the sketchiest part of the trail. We ran into a group of 8 coming up what we were trying to come down. Since it had rained two nights before, the crevice was full of water. The group coming up verified that it was at least 5 or 6 feet deep, so we couldn't wade across. This is how they got across:

We just went in and half swam half scrambled with our arms. halfway across we were about to touch the bottom and wade the rest of the way. That part was pretty nerve wracking.

On our way out, we saw a lizzard eating another lizard. Both were still breathing. Gotta love mother nature.

After that we headed home. Definitely one of the best weekends of my life. I had more fun on the back roads and exploring that I do rock crawling (although that was a blast too).

This is not just another Moab trip, it is much better. Your trip report was much more than just some shots of the rigs out on the trail. You actually got down and did some hiking and if that was not enough you got KILLER shots of the sky at night. FAWSOME!

I'm glad you guys like the pics. It was too good of a trip not to do a huge trip report. This was probably my best 4x4 trip to date.

I wish I would have made it. Looks like you had a great time, I can only imagine what my dog Molly would have done in those canyons.

Hey man, sorry we never met up down there. Glad to see you enjoyed ding and dang, we did it on Saturday afternoon. We went the reverse way that you went, but you went the more conventional way.

Next time, try finding winter camp slot. It's actually east of Green River and then down some road at a ranch exit for about 15 miles. That's what we ended up doing Saturday morning and it was a blast. 55 meter rappel into a slot.

Almost at the bottom...
