Just can't figure this one out. Vibration at speed.

Grrrr.....

Well I went ahead and left all my measuring tools at work last night, but I was able to make a significant discovery. Using a strait edge if found that my pinion points 2 inches below the T-case output--thats the good part. The bad part is that I already have the 6* shims in, and I don't think they make higher ones than that :(

I now have 3 options. 1. Put in 2* shims (to make the flanges parrallel) and run a non CV shaft. 2. run a very LONG shackle. 3. I can french my front spring hangers and raise them about 2 inches to gain a few degrees there.

The third option will work best in the long run. The current hangers always snag so frenching them would solve that problem, but it's a lot more work and Moab is 6 days away! :(

I would buy new spring perches from TG, cut the old perches off and set the pinion angle properly. Then use shims to fine tune from there.

Problem solved!!! :D

I finally found some time to pull the axle and cut off the perches. I borrowed a really nice angle finder and-long story short-figured out that even 3* was too much angle. I now have new beef cake perches and a 0* angle without any shims and there is no vibration whatsoever. I know its been forever, but thanks for the help everyone! I am wondering how it will act with a load in the bed. I don't know if it will change the angle too much or not I guess I'll find out sooner or later.

My truck is now street legal and actually quite comfortable to drive down the road... Sweet
