Hello everybody. I live in Salt Lake City and got myself a 96 XJ with 162k miles on it about 6 weeks ago. Up until a week ago I have been loving it and got out to explore Farmington Canyon.
Before I got the jeep I explored Utah in my Subaru Forester which other than poor ground clearance has been an incredibly capable vehicle off road but I pushed it to its limits and decided I needed something better.
The first things I did to the jeep was upgrade the mechanical fan clutch and install a Spartan Locker in the rear. Then disaster struck and it spun a rod bearing on a drive up to Yellowstone for a weekend camping trip. I am currently trying to figure out the repairs for that so I can get back out there and hit some trails. I started a thread in the technical forum looking for some help on getting this fixed.
Here is a picture all loaded up and dead on the side of the highway.
