My friend 97wrangler told me about this site and so far i like what i see. We have been goin to moab since we were in high school and I got sick of ridding shotgun so last year I bought an '04 rubicon. Not too many mods yet other than a 2" lift but more are coming. Still, the guys at jeep knew what they were doing cause even when stock, these suckers can crawl! Hope to meet some cool off roaders and maybe get together and do some summer runs!

Bout time you joined. You know when you sell that '93 Cobra you will be able to buy a hell of a lot more Jeep parts.

Ive been jeepin in moab since I was bout 17.( I'm 25 now) Started off spottin my buddy and learnin how to get up obstacles. Ive taken my jeep down the last two years and am hopelessly hooked. Just got back from easter safari on sunday. A whole week down there isnt nearly enough time. We did poison spider, flat iron mesa, fins 'n' things, 3-D and many others. What bout u?

I go down as often as I can! :greg: I haven't had my own rig since last summer, but I'm finishing the build on my TJ which should be a killer rig when it's done.

There's nothing like going from passenger to driver, it's so much more fun!

Welcome to RME. If you are surprised with what they can do stock (which is quite a bit), just wait tell you modify it even more, then you will realy be surprised.

And greg, i agree driver is a lot of fun. But i just love the sport so much i am content to just watch.

I gotta go 4 lift first and have looked at all the big names, but when i was at the big showcase in moab I spent about an hour with the owner of superlift and he was way cool and took the time to go over all the aspects of his companys products with me. I had never heard a lot of feedback about superlift but after him showing me every little part and explaining the process they went through to make them the best they can be I was impressed. may go with them, may not. Just wish their 4" lift came with sway bar disconnects. (They come with fixed.) U heard anything good or bad about them?

Come on man just do what I did, buy one, then want more, buy another, still not satisfied then buy another til you think your satisfied. Isn't that how everyone does it, You have personally watched me redo mine four times. Finally after doing some of my own modifications think I finally got it where I like it. Thanks to your help and a few beers this year I think we may be on the right path. But I will now just wait til two weeks before Easter next year and we will try to redo it again.

Welcome to RME and Jeepin. Addiction is fast and unquenchable...just so you know.

I think before you do anything, decide what you want to do and then go bigger than that (obviously within reason). Do it right the first time so that you don't waste your money when you have to redo it. You might think that it is big once you first get it done, but once you get used to it you will want bigger. Example: when my cousin got his Jeep he thought that a 3-4 inch lift with 33" tires would be big enough. after much consideration he decided to go with a 5.5" lift and 35" tires and loves it.

Have fun with it though. Building the Jeep is half the fun.

Thats one helluva nice pic! Yeah ive heard that from alot of friends. Thinkin bout adding a 4" to my 2" spacer so I can clear 35's. I know thats kinda frowned upon but I know alot of people that have done it. Gotta get that diff off the ground! Can always improve later.

Thanks about the pic. That is Moab Rim and is a fun trail.

I don't think it is that bad of an idea to use the 2" pucks w/ 4" springs. Some say that you don't have as good of articulation that way. It will still articulate a ton though and with front and rear lockers you'll be able to get through the high articulation areas without a problem so who cares. Plus because the 4" springs are shorter they don't have to use as heavy duty of material and so ride a bit softer too. Best of luck and have fun.
