i agree with herzog, they do their job selectivly. i have been driving the same road everyday back and forth between school and work for over a year and never once have i been pulled over until yesterday
Consider yourself lucky that you dodged the law as long as you did. It is irresponsible of you to knowingly drive a vehicle that you know is illegal on the city streets. I did it for a long time with my zuk....hell, I had 8" of tire hanging out of each side of the vehicle since I took off the fender flares and shaved the mounting tabs. I drove it like that 3 miles to my old job for two years and got pulled over once by the Ogden PD. I got a fix it ticket for mud flaps. I didn't go on the internet crying about how I disobeyed the law and got caught, I went and bought some semi trailer mudflaps and made damn sure I was legal before I went to get the ticket signed off.
I know the UHP does their job selectively...that is their job description. Some days they have the time to try and clean up the safety infractions and I am sure some days they dont. Selectivity is the name of the game for LEOs. We have plenty of them on the board, they should chime in.
I mean seriously...you drive a banana yellow jeep with tires sticking out all over the place...what the hell did you expect? You were lucky and now you are being held accountable to the laws of the land, get over it.
ohh...and the three rock chips on my pickup, one was from a semi passing me in the opposite direction on a rig road, another was from a lifted F-series pickup with no mudflaps (wyoming plates) passing me in the same direction on a rig road, and the last one was from a GMC canyon (montana plates) passing me on the highway that had tires HANGING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE!
