You're probably like 20 and the UHP/cops will pull you over because they know the probability of it being a hassle for them is much lower. If they pull over some 30/40/50 something driving a lifted jeep the probability of that person being a lawyer and the jeep being their mid-life-crisis vehicle is much higher

Or maybe you are like 40 and i'm an idiot. All I know is that I got pulled over and issued some sort of citation 18 times between the ages of 16-20 and I've been pulled over once in the last 6 years (and I was going pretty good so I deserved it). I don't do anything different now than I did then.

Man do I ever relate to this! Back in high school I got pulled over for ANYTHING. Now, nadda. Only been pulled over twice in 4 years, and also because of stuff that I really deserved it for.

My son is 23, busted his axle, so drove an old truck we had. The registration had expired by a month or two ... he got pulled over .. 40 buck ticket. . He was driving my car last week ... pulled over ... no registration sticker .. it was in the glove box from last year (expires this month). I've drove the car for the last year, no probs, youngsters ... hehe ... keep the cops busy so they dont bug us old farts

all i know is that the one day i decided to wear a cowboy hat on the freeway i had 2 UHP's behind me in less than 5 minutes.... it was a felony stop without the guns drawn... or there being a felony committed.. ;)... i was lucky enough to just get warnings about my mirrors, flares, and bumper height.. of all things.. i was lucky that day...

Heaven forbid you should actually follow the laws of the land....jeez...

Do what the law-books tell you and you wont get hassled. The laws are there for a reason so cover up your rock slingin' tires, drive the speed limit and you will get left alone. I learned the hard way just like most of us on here! Our fellow wheelers fought long and hard to get a reasonable lift law instated so don't expect a shoulder to cry on when the UHP does their job.

Consider yourself lucky that you dodged the law as long as you did. It is irresponsible of you to knowingly drive a vehicle that you know is illegal on the city streets. I did it for a long time with my zuk....hell, I had 8" of tire hanging out of each side of the vehicle since I took off the fender flares and shaved the mounting tabs. I drove it like that 3 miles to my old job for two years and got pulled over once by the Ogden PD. I got a fix it ticket for mud flaps. I didn't go on the internet crying about how I disobeyed the law and got caught, I went and bought some semi trailer mudflaps and made damn sure I was legal before I went to get the ticket signed off.

I know the UHP does their job selectively...that is their job description. Some days they have the time to try and clean up the safety infractions and I am sure some days they dont. Selectivity is the name of the game for LEOs. We have plenty of them on the board, they should chime in.

I mean seriously...you drive a banana yellow jeep with tires sticking out all over the place...what the hell did you expect? You were lucky and now you are being held accountable to the laws of the land, get over it.

ohh...and the three rock chips on my pickup, one was from a semi passing me in the opposite direction on a rig road, another was from a lifted F-series pickup with no mudflaps (wyoming plates) passing me in the same direction on a rig road, and the last one was from a GMC canyon (montana plates) passing me on the highway that had tires HANGING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE!

My mother and I drove nearly identical s10 blazers when I was in high school. Neither of them had front license plates. I got pulled over 6 times and issued 4 tickets for it in year I had the vehicle. She had hers for 4 years and never once got pulled over.

I guess I could have put a front plate on, but it was young and full of piss and vinegar so I was trying to prove a point. I forgot what the point was.

I have a front plate on my dodge and on the tokyo drift. I can't remember if I ever put one on the jeep though.....
