I guess the point I was getting at was that he's running parts smaller (and lighter) than most other competitors to get the new buggy close to his old Samurai's weight. Front & rear Ford 9's really seemed to help there. Also it seems that most guys are now running 39's rather than the 37's Dean has. I know it's easy enough to change tires before a Comp, so that's not a reliable factor. IIRC, didn't his Samurai buggy have 60's?
I'd like to see him do well also, he is a helluva driver.

This rig was built to compete in the crawls, we -rock, pro-rock, etc hence the 37's, two seats, 4 spd atlas, etc. not the racing, but it is more than capable.
I think the 9's are a new venture that has to do with getting the 60* steering...
Dean mentioned that he can touch his stinger to a wall, turn hard with cutting breaks and never hit the wall with a tire... pretty cool stuff.
as good as it looks in those photos, it looks better in person... They introduced it in Pamona, and had it at the PSC booth at SEMA.
